Experimental shop system

This week I'm testing a new shop feature for the server, which basically consists of a /buy command that you can use on races to give you ghost mode or select the next map.

The command syntax is: /buy <item> <options>, where <item> can be:
  • gm: gives ghostmode to the player for the remainder of the race.
    Not applicable on DD maps or maps with GM on.
    Cost: $50
    Example: /buy gm
  • map: sets the next map, with <options> specifying the map name.
    Cost: $20, +$10 for each time a map is bought
    Example: /buy map Desert Drift
  • weapon: adds a weapon to the player's inventory, with <options> specifying the weapon name.
    The player's weapon inventory is refreshed at the start of each map, so you only have to buy a weapon once.
    Some weapons are only available to players above a certain stats Level.
    Cost: Depends on weapon, see table below
    Example: /buy weapon Combat Shotgun
  • jetpack: gives a jetpack to the player. It can only be bought if the player is on foot. To get out of the jetpack, simply press the secondary "enter/exit" key bind; it's the same as the one used to enter vehicles.
    Cost: $50
  • rain: sets rainy weather, if you feel the weather is too boring.
    Cost: $35
  • sunshine: Sets sunny weather.
    Cost: $25
  • daytime: Sets GTA time to noon.
    Cost: $25
  • nighttime: Sets GTA time to 22:30h
    Cost: $75
  • flip: Turns player's vehicle upside down.
    Cost: $50
  • gravity <option>: Sets gravity to one of the specified options: high, normal, low, or micro.
    Cost:
    • high: $250
    • normal: $25
    • low: $250
    • micro: $500
  • vehicle <name or id>: Sets player's vehicle to the specified vehicle model. Will spawn a new vehicle is player is on foot.
    Cost: variable
  • repair: Repairs your vehicle
    Cost: $50
  • handling <name>: Applies the specified handling package to the current vehicle. Handling packages consist of a set of predefined custom handling parameters.
    Cost:
    • street: $85
      Stiffer suspension, lower center of mass, lighter body and increased traction
    • offroad: $75
      Softer suspension, higher damping, increased traction
    • armor: $80
      +25% weight and -20% collision damage
    • power5: $100
      +5% top speed and acceleration, -5% inertia
    • power10: $150
      +10% top speed and acceleration, -10% inertia

Additionally, the following commands have been aliased:
  • gm = /buy gm
  • flip = /buy flip
  • repair = /buy repair
  • fix = /buy repair
  • jetpack = /buy jetpack
  • taxi = /buy vehicle taxi
  • day = /buy daytime
  • night = /buy nighttime
  • rain = /buy rain
  • sunshine = /buy sunshine
  • weapon <name> = /buy weapon <name>
  • vehicle <id> = /buy vehicle <id>
  • gravity <option> = /buy gravity <option>


Since these items cost money, there must be a way to earn it. Right now you earn money based on the points you get from races, with 1 stats point being equivalent to $1.

However, a fairly progressive tax system will collect a percentage from the money you earn. The tax rate is based on the player's stat Level. Thus, a player on Level 20 will only receive 80% of the money earned. The maximum tax rate is set at 50%.

- Baseball Bat: $10, from Level 1
- Shovel: $10, from Level 2
- Nightstick: $15, from Level 2
- Golf Club: $20, from Level 2
- Pool Cue: $20, from Level 3
- Knife: $10, from Level 10
- Katana: $2500, from Level 10

Slot 2: Handguns

- Pistol: $200, from Level 5
- Silenced Pistol: $600, from Level 7
- Desert Eagle: $1200, from Level 8

Slot 3: Shotguns

- Shotgun: $600, from Level 10
- Sawn-Off Shotgun: $800, from Level 12
- Combat Shotgun: $1000, from Level 15

Slot 4: Machine Guns

- TEC-9: $300, from Level 16
- Uzi: $500, from Level 16
- MP5: $2000, from Level 17

Slot 5: Assault Rifles

- AK-47: $3500, from Level 18
- M4: $4500, from Level 20

Slot 6: Rifles

- Country Rifle: $3500, from Level 15
- Sniper Rifle: $5000, from Level 17

Slot 7: Heavy Weapons

- Flamethrower: $5000, from Level 12
- Rocket Launcher: $10000, from Level 25
- Heat-Seeking RPG: $10000, from Level 27
- Minigun: $15000, from Level 30

Slot 8: Projectiles

- Molotov Cocktails: $2000, from Level 5
- Tear Gas: $2500, from Level 6
- Grenades: $3000, from Level 12

Slot 9: Special

- Spray Can: $5, from Level 1
- Camera: $50, from Level 1
- Fire Extinguisher: $20, from Level 3

Slot 10: Other

- Vibrator: $20, from Level 2
- Dildo: $30, from Level 2
- Purple Dildo: $40, from Level 3
- Cane: $50, from Level 3


As you may have guessed, buying a weapon will replace any existing one in the same slot.

Purchased weapons are saved into the player's account, and are replenished each time the player spawns.

Might wanna raise the price a little on the TEC-9 and Uzi.
And set a next map for just $10? should be at least a 100 bucks?

Oh and maybe if we can strike a deal with "The Holy Empire of Taint3dBulge" we can trade in the virgins currency. I rather earn a few virgins for a drift than a few bucks, and whats cooler than to trade a few virgins for some guns :P

And can you add gambling?! (rolling dice/lottery) nice while afking
would be cool if a lottery still goes on while you are offline so you might go back again into the server the next day to see if you have won a few thousand virgins :twisted:

On the pick map option, there is the same thing on green server. If you win, at end of race a list pops up with all the map names on it then u just double click the map u want, this option is alot easyer than trying to spell a map name. Like is it "hotdrag" or "Hot Drag" or "Hot drag" its hard to remeber with so many maps out there, the list option would be nice.

everyone not good enough with / command so i suggest and perticular key for this like F4 or F6 something where all shop items avlable .and also show players points in the corner .that look good and fun :twisted: :twisted:

yes king, good idea. i was already searching for the bind what leads to the shop. so people expect to see something nice.

I don't think it will be hard to slap a GUI over this system. But my next task will be to enable money transfers between players, with a /give command, that sort of thing seems to be popular too.
